Welcome to Casa Playa, a truly extraordinary beachfront home nestled in the beautiful Las Conchas area. Many outstanding amenities make this an unusually desirable vacation retreat.
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a charming Mexican-style courtyard featuring palm trees, an outdoor fireplace, and a serene fountain. The expansive great room offers breathtaking ocean views and features vaulted ceilings, a cozy wood-burning fireplace, and comfortable fireside seating. The space also includes a large-screen TV with satellite, a 10-disc CD player, a tape deck, a stereo sound system, and a computer with internet access (plus wireless internet for those who prefer to bring their own laptops).
The dining area seats up to ten guests, ideal for family meals or entertaining. The gourmet kitchen, with ocean views, is fully equipped with a gas stove, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, convection oven, prep sink, and small appliances you might need, including a blender, coffee maker, toaster oven, and two microwaves. In addition, there is a breakfast alcove complete with bay window.
The master bedroom offers spectacular ocean views and features a king-size bed, a wood-burning fireplace, a stunning boveda ceiling, and a private bath with a jacuzzi and double sinks. The second oceanfront bedroom has a queen bed, a wood-burning fireplace, and a full bath with a jacuzzi and double sinks. The third bedroom offers a queen bed, a wood-burning fireplace, and a private bath with double sinks and a jacuzzi. The fourth bedroom has a full bed, a wood-burning fireplace, and a private bath.
Additionally, there’s a beautifully designed full casita located on the ground floor, which is considered the fifth bedroom, offering even more privacy and comfort. Other amenities include an advanced water purification system, a laundry room, a powder room, ceiling fans throughout, central heat/AC, and a built-in outdoor charcoal barbecue. There’s also an outdoor shower, a large front patio, and a sundeck with a firepit for relaxing while enjoying the stunning views.
Owner requests No Smoking Inside. Sheets, towels, drinking water, and firewood are provided, though guests should bring their own firewood starters.
Minimum Stay Requirements: 2-night minimum during weekdays; 3-night minimum during weekends in March, April, May, June, October, November, and all holidays. Specific holidays require a 4-night minimum stay.

For over 20 years we have enjoyed the peace and beauty of this place, the spellbinding sunsets and the charm of the city. As frequent visitors to Puerto Penasco, it became impossible for us to ignore the plight of many of the street dogs suffering from illness, starvation and sometimes outright cruelty. On several occasions we took abandoned, sick and starving dogs back to the United States to be rehabilitated and to find loving "forever" homes.
A few years ago, we encountered Barb Mumbach, who operates Barb's Dog Rescue about five miles north of town. She is an incredible woman who has struggled to help these poor dogs in any way that she can. She cares for them at her rescue providing food, medicine, and lots of love. She has also arranged for spaying and neutering, as well as many successful adoptions to the United States.
Your choice to stay at Casa Playa is a significant benefit to these dogs because we have pledge 100% of all rental revenues from Casa Playa to Barb's Dog Rescue.
To the world, Barb is a dog rescuer. To each of these needy dogs, she is their world. Owner requests No Smoking Inside and Pets allowed upon approval. Sheets and one set of bath towels are provided.
For those looking to host a special event, Casa Playa is also available for weddings and parties with a $1,000 USD non-refundable fee.
For 7 nights the owner requests, if it is a weekend, check in must be on Friday or Sunday not Saturday.
This home is pet friendly, pet fee is $75 per pet

  We had a great experience at Casa Playa. This was our first time renting a house since we usually stay in resorts. We didn't know if we wwere going to have the necessities in every room, however, the house was well equipped. The house was spacious, clean and very comfortable. At first we didn't know if the neighborhood was safe and we were hesitant to leave the car outside since we couldn't use the garage. however, we did see a security truck patrolling the area. It was really comforting to see that. The only suggestion we have for to whom is in charge of the house is to please install thicker curtains in the rooms/bathroom facing the front of the house/courtyard. There is no privacy,and you cannot sleep past sunrise. Other than this, our stay was amazing. Great views and the layout of the house is perfect. The lower living quarters is perfect for privacy and convenience. We will definitely rent this house again. We would like to thank the property manager, host and staff. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, professional, and understanding. Our questions/concerns were answer fairly quickly. Thank you

  Property was nice. Workmen however, left cigarette butts all over. Not one hair dryer in any of the bathrooms was a huge inconvenience! Otherwise everything was nice. Also was a bit odd that all the sliders were replaced but one ****** dilapidated door remained downstairs. Wood was all rotted out and gaps on top and bottom let bugs in. Overall a great property for a lot of people. Would be nice to have the hot/warm water explained on how to set the shower. First day I took a cold shower🤦��‍♀️

  Really enjoyed our stay in this spacious, beautiful hose. Appreciate that the owners are also dog lovers and let us bring 2 dogs. Great having pvt bathrooms for every bedroom, especially now that the kids are in their 20s and need privacy. We especially lvoed the big deck and ample lounge chairs. Beds have been updated (we stayed here some years ago), and are now really comfy. Wish the house had a gas grill - we had to run out to get charcoal last min and it was a pain dealing with that all weekend. Otherwise the house was great and as usual, Oceano was wonderful to deal wtih. We had one small issue with a leaking sink and they came out w/in 30 mins on a Sunday and got it fixed. Note that house is located on a narrower strip of beach so tide comes up quite high. We didn't mind; for us it is a great trade off to not have a lot of rocks to deal with.

  My family stayed here for a week and had an amazing time! The casita was a very nice addition for my wife and I as we have a baby, so she was able to sleep without being waken up by the rest of us making noise upstairs. The property was beautiful, well maintained, clean and the perfect size for our party. (6 adults and 5 Children) Some of the beds are small, so I would not plan on 10 adults.
  My only complaints are that the casita was very hot when we got there and it took 2 days to cool it down. Also, the cleaning crew was supposed to show up every 3rd day, and they did not show. I had to contact the rental company on the 4th day to have them come the 5th day. So we essentially did not get one of the cleanings that was included in our cost.
  Overall, this home is an amazing and we will likely stay again for our next family summer trip!

  The property is spacious and beautiful and very clean. And while I would likely stay there again, I do have some recommendations and concerns.
  1) The king size bed in the main level master was hard and incredibly uncomfortable resulting in that part of our family sleeping on couches!!!
  2) The downstairs suite was 85 degrees when we arrived. I called immediately but could not stay since we were due at a wedding rehearsal. I OK’d entry since we had not put anything down there. A niece who arrived later was told she had to stay while they worked on the AC which meant she missed the dinner!! It did finally cool off but we were interrupted again during massages by the repair people who needed to test the system on Saturday morning.

The beach was a staircase away, the grill was very nice to use, and each bedroom was very pretty and clean.   One of the best houses down there...had a wonderful stay, great location, very clean, well appointed kitchen, bedrooms were very nice (bathroom ensuite in 4 bedrooms...only reason for downgrade to 4 stars for general condition were the toilets...very small seats..uncomfortable for adult males)...Oceano Rental Staff exceptionally helpful and pleasant....also the lower level is completely self contained with it's own kitchen.   First of all this beautiful house is on the beach. The patio area has plenty of seating and lounge chairs as well. This is our second time renting Casa Playa. We noticed the wonderful improvements from last year. I love that each bedroom has it's own private bathroom. The patio area and courtyard is very nice. When I am at this house I feel secure. The front gate to the court yard locks and we also lock the front of the house when our whole group is at the beach. The kitchen is well stocked. There is no need to bring any kitchen items. The living room is a nice comfortable place to relax. The dining area is outstanding. There is seating for 10. I highly recommend this house to a large group.

  We rented this property for a family reunion in celebration of our Dad's 90th birthday. We were thrilled by the beauty of this home. It was the perfect setting to celebrate our special occasion. Dad loved it and couldn't get over how amazing it was. The home was very clean, with beautiful and well thought out decor. The kitchen was very well stocked with all needed cooking utensils and supplies. It was convenient to town for easy store runs and going out as needed. And the views... no words really. Just magical. The downstairs studio apartment is also very comfortable and a great extra space for a small family or a few extra people - with more amazing views. The property management company and owner were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. I would highly recommend this property and hope we have the opportunity to stay here again.

  The older members of our extended family spent a wonderful week in this lovely home in Rocky Point. All of the utilities worked; the kitchen was beautifully supplied with every cooking item and we were really charmed by George, who came by daily to take our breakfast burrito and chili renello orders to deliver the next morning! While the ocean patio is high above the water, it was perfect for those beautiful Puerto Penasco sunsets - they never disappoint. You can't go wrong with this rental.   We all had a great time, beautiful house, nice beach. Got a little exercise walking up and down the stairs to beach though. Next visit to Casa Playa, hopefully owners will open up garage to us.
  
  Two suggestions for future home renovations. Remove "Jacuzzi" bath tub in the tiled tiles tub room. Painful to get in and out of tub, much more user friendly just to have a walk in shower. That same room needs a new mattress.

  This property if gorgeous and the location is pretty good.
  
  There were issues as soon as we got there. There are water rationings throughout the city. Las Conchas community has no contract with the city authorities for water. The city send water in the late evening for about 3 hours, the homes in the area have a water reservoir container that it suppose to collect water for daily use. When we got there we were told they had just filled the reserve and not to worry. Within hours of getting the keys there was no water for showers, washing hands, etc. We had no water for almost a whole day. The management company came out and checked the pump and found an empty container. Apparently the city had not pumped any water for at least 3 days. The purchased a pipe of water and got us going again. We choose to use the bottled water jugs for all our cooking needs, we cooked all 3 meals there at the property. When we contacted management for extra bottles of water they were very rude at first questioning how we could go thru 3 jugs so quickly. Hello!! we had no water for an entire day, they seem to have forgotten that part. Eventually we got what we needs taken care but they management company was a bit abrupt.
  
  We also had a small rodent problem in the first floor laundry room and an ant problem in the main house kitchen. But they were dealt with.
  
  The bedroom with the queen size bed has a very bad shower tub combination in the bathroom. I fell on the first night we got there and threw my back out. I would recommend they upgrade that bathroom to make it a walk in shower instead very dangerous and slippery. I chose to not use that restroom for the remainder of our stay.
  
  The sleeping arrangement are as you see them on line,no extra pull outs or beds,only 1 bed per room.
  
  Kitchen cookware needs some upgrades and no large pots or cookware.

  This house was perfect for our family vacation. Each bedroom having their own bathroom was a plus!! House was spacious and clean and kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The living room furniture was very comfortable. The views were awesome! We wish we could have stayed longer and plan on doing so next family vacation.
  A few cons: Some of the mattresses could use some upgrading as some were a little hard. The outside shower was not working so we had to use the waterhose in courtyard. We called office due to ants in the downstairs room and they sent someone right over to spray. We would suggest owners putting some kind of stripping to prevent ants/bugs from going in the downstairs room.
  Over all we had a great time and would stay again!

  Our family stay at Casa Playa was the best experience we have ever had in Rocky Point. Very clean, spacious, beautifully furnished, large fully equipped kitchen, multiple decks and roof deck with fire pit and only steps away from a spectacular sandy beach.   Overall we enjoyed our stay in this house. We had a group of 10 which the house was set up perfectly for - seating for 10 at the dining room table and also in the living room. The deck had ample chairs and we thoroughly loved sitting out there looking at the beach and ocean. One big disappointment was the 5th bedroom was very small with just a double bed. The mattresses in some of the bedrooms were very uncomfortable. I think the unit could use a little maintenance. The grill was in poor shape so that we wouldn't use it - really missed having a grill. Office staff and maintenance were pleasant.

  For a group of ten, this house was perfect! The expansive views of the water were spectacular, and the sound of the surf was calming. Besides the obvious advantages of being on a beautiful private beach with billions of interesting shells, the house itself was entirely comfortable and usable. The kitchen is well equipped and the layout is convenient for many people to prep food and drinks together. The furnishings were all very comfortable and the whole group could either dine together at the big table, or sit and watch movies in the comfy furniture in the living room. In a word: luxurious! Having each bedroom have a private bath is another pure luxury. Casa Playa is a very special place with a very special mission that is worth supporting.   Casa Playa was very nice with awesome furnishings and roomy patio All of the rooms were large with nice bathrooms. We do plan to come back Casa Playa on our bi-yearly visits to Las Conchas. Things that need a little improvement to make this perfect.
  1. Had an ant issue in kitchen, coming up from cabinets and stove top.
  2. Maybe having use of garage
  3. Tiled tub in one of the upstairs bathrooms was awkward and hard to get into and a little dangerous. Suggest tearing it out and replacing with a normal tub and shower.
  
  This place is gorgeous and owners are donating proceeds to a good cause. Congratulations to them.

  November 2015! Wonderful family vacation at Casa Playa. We had a family of 10 that included a 1 year old and a small dog. This house was perfect. The property was exactly as described and was very clean. The deck views and beach in front were awesome. Our family would definitely come back to this rental. The only thing that didn't work was the computer, but the WIFI worked great. The property is very close to town but feels very remote! Thank you so much for a very great week.

  The house is in a very good location,safe and comfortable.-
  Somethings to take care:
  The air-condition that refrigerate the right side of the main house isn't working well.
  The deck needs stronger lights.
  The grill has no light and difficult the cooking at night.
  The left front of the electric stove doesn't work.
  NOTE: I thanks the manager that allows me to use the garage. In summer is very hot and isn't nice to leave the vehicles outside at the sun. when you rent a house this level all the services count.

  I'm usually very critical when it comes to most things, especially when I travel. Aside from being stopped and inspected at the border, there was not much wrong with our trip or our stay at Casa Playa. In fact, it was about as ideal a trip as it could be. The house is big, beautiful, and comfortable. The A/C (all 3) worked great, The beach was excellent and we had a great 3 days. This was our third stay at Casa Playa and our best. Our thanks go out to the owners and to Oceano who made our family outing wonderful and unforgettable!
