Playa Romantica --which means Romantic Beach in Spanish-- is the perfect beach getaway. The exterior architecture is gorgeous and features large windows for ocean-viewing. This beachfront home has 2 beachfront bedrooms and 2 baths. One bedroom has a queen bed and at twin with private patio access; the other bedroom has a queen bed and a twin and private patio access. There is a fully equipped kitchen, including coffee maker, blender, microwave, and toaster. The living/dining room has a fireplace (bring own wood or fire logs) and a beautiful view of the water as well as quick access to the beach. Other amenities include a large beachfront patio and furniture, ceiling fans, central A/C, TV Monitor for VCR, (bring own video tapes), Wireless internet (Wi-Fi), outdoor shower, and charcoal barbecue. Owner requests No Smoking Inside and Pets allowed upon approval. Sheets and one set of bath towels are provided.

Older home, small but enough space for myself and 2 friends. Home was clean and had comfortable Queen beds. Twin size beds were ok if you like a firm mattress. Air conditioners work great! Kitchen was equipped well, but could use new pans and there wasn’t any baking pans. As others have mentioned, could also use more patio chairs. Overall we had a great experience with Oceano and enjoyed our stay. We woke up our first morning to having no water in the house, I called Oceano at 8am, and had water refilled before 10am. I would text this home for a small group. Beautiful beach, not too rocky.

The cottage, surrounded by mega-mansions, was cozy and intimate. The perfect affordable get-away in Rocky Point....right on the beach!! It was very clean, well furnished, kitchen appliances well stocked, modern, up-to-date, good hot water in the shower, comfortable beds and very quiet. A hidden gem that I will be back to visit again and again.

No complaints other than the TV is very tiny , the a/c works awesome ! The view is the best , the beach is very good with minimal rocks . You can snorkel and is best at high tide . I saw baby sting rays , puffer fish , Sargent majors , mackerel and sea bass . The place was clean and safe .
Big shout out to the people at Océano rentals for helping us relocate due to a broken A/C at another property . They had a repair man out within the hour but unfortunately couldn’t be repaired only replaced . They didn’t hesitate to rebook us to save our vacation . Will definitely use again !

Loved the house, very clean and comfortable. The sand & wind storm storm came and the folks from Oceano Rentals came and “dug” us out with shovels and vacuum. We booked with vrbo and communicated through Oceana from pre-check through check-out. The property is perfectly situated on the beach and during our short stay, there were few people around other than kids nearby enjoying playtime on a trampoline. There is only one small smart-TV, no DVD player, older eclectic furniture throughout with very firm beds and stove/oven that needs attention. While we brought up some items to Oceana, they were right on top of trying to remedy it immediately, but we declined since our visit was short. We mentioned at checkout the oven needs a circuit board (but model is obsolete) and were told the owner may have a replacement stove in the garage. Microwave, coffee maker and toaster are the only appliances in the kitchen (and toaster should be replaced). You'll need water, extra towels, hair dryer and any beach items to fully enjoy your stay. The house is great and had an adjacent path for local beach access. Weather and water were excellent in January while enjoying some peaceful, relaxing time soaking up the sun and mild breezes. We would definitely recommend the property.

Very comfortable little casita on the water. We love our time here! Except for noisy evening renters in the house next door every time we have stayed here everything is great. Perfect beach property for 1-4 vacationers who do not like the Resort experience.

Issues:

1. Patio furniture is UNCOMFORTABLE. 1-2 loungers needed (with cushions would be nicer).

2. Needs more than one dish towel for stays longer than 2 days.

3. Bottled water for drinking/cooking would be nice.

4. Larger television and satellite service would make for a better experience.

Pros:

1. Water pressure was great.

2. Hot water was great.

3. Refrigerator was COLD!

4. Kitchen utensils/dishware is perfect for up to 4 guests.

5. ALL doors and windows worked, as well as having serviceable screens. Too many beach homes/condos in Rocky Point do not have easy to use sliding patio doors; and the screens on doors and windows are either broken or nonexistent. Playa Romantica is not one of these properties!

6. Air conditioning worked in all rooms when we needed it.

My STAR Reviews may seem misleading as I rarely give anything 5 stars.

We were happy with our stay at Playa Romantica in November 2021 and April 2022; and have already reserved it again for October 2022.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at casa romantics. We loved the time on the beach and jumping in the waves. Be aware that you might need to bring or purchase some of these items because the house is sparsely stocked: forks for mealtime (there were 4), towels, beach toys. Also, there is no laundry on site and no dishwasher. My husband struggled with how to make coffee at first because there was a machine but no carafe. But he found a pour over system. But the house is right on the beach in a quiet spot and the folks at oceano were super accommodating and responsive when we messed up our reservation. I would recommend this spot for sure!

Stove would not turn off unless you flipped the breaker in the panal.

Electrical panel was missing a cover which prsesnted a shock and fire hazard

some of the blankets were not washed so they smelled bad and had sand in them

Requested for the dirty blankets to be washed but they never were washed.

Tryiesdo to book a horsback and 4 wheller trip but this seamed difficult for the agency to do and when completed were over 40 dollers higher.

Microvave did nto have enough energy to completely cook the food.

Not enough forks, no shampoo or conditionaer, no paper towerls or drinkable water.

The home looked even better than the pictures! How often does that happen?! It's a great split floorplan layout. The beds are comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated. Ceiling fans in every room. The air conditioning works great, and there are separate units for each room in case guests have different preferences. The kitchen was well stocked. The only negative inside was very low water pressure in the showers. We ended up using the hose out back to wash more than just the sand off our feet. There is almost a 180 degree view of the water just sitting on the sofa. It's very quiet and peaceful here. Sitting on the back patio enjoying the view and sound of the waves was beautiful. That experience would be improved with some upgraded patio furniture. There are several plastic chairs and a cement bench and table, so there were plenty of seats just none of them comfortable. I was able to swim without hitting any rocks at high tide. At low tide you can walk among the rocks and sandbars. The Oceano staff are so helpful and professional. I would definitely rent from Oceano again, and I would love to stay in this home again.

If you desire a quiet home on the beach in Puerto Penasco, then it would be hard to find better than this one. The photos do not lie, you have an unobstructed view of the Sea of Cortez from inside and out, with sea birds, passing dolphins, and that incredible tidal range. We enjoyed exploring tide pools in front of the unit at low tide. The beach at high tide looked great for swimming had we been there during warmer weather. Really can't ask for a better location if you're looking for a nature-based lodging option. The home had all most all necessities. No dishwasher, but no big deal. It advertised a charcoal grill, but none was there when we arrived. No problem! Called the Oceana office and they had a fine young man purchase a new one and assemble it on site within two hours. Used it several times for grilling super fresh shrimp (get it in town at Jessy's, the best!). Beds were comfy, all appliances worked fine, AC/Heat was as expected. WiFi never a problem. We plugged a laptop in the HDMI port on the TV to stream movies, otherwise no video entertainment. Things were clean. We felt safe at all times. Yes, unit is showing a bit of age in a few places but nothing that took away from its overall great feeling. Only downside is that the roads in Las Conchas are not paved, and we had 4 days of off and on rainy weather (what? this place gets only 10 days of rain all year? bad luck on our part). The sand roads turn into quagmires...passable, but challenging. Of course, rain and sand roads not the fault of Oceana. We'd return in a heartbeat...this place was great.

We had a great time, this was our second time staying at this same house. The house is updated and much nicer in person than the pictures. The beach seemed really rocky this time maybe it was the time of year or the crazy weather. But the house was very comfortable, clean and overall a really nice place to stay at. Looking forward to visiting again. The place was very clean, the location is great, super close to everything. I recommended this place to so many people already.

This little beach house was even better in person! Upon arrival, the house was extremely clean. There was tons of storage areas, two nice big bedrooms with very nice updated bathrooms. The kitchen was updated (since the last time I saw pictures) and it was gorgeous!!! I do wish there was outdoor furniture for us to enjoy, but that did not take away from our experience. Being on the beach, staying in a perfect beach house, made for a very good week for us.

Lovely ocean experience in the desert. Assume tide changes with dolphins just off shore! Birds, fish, sun and warmth! The beach goes forever!
Minor improvements would make the home perfect, patio table, a couple of lounge chairs and better screens.

We rented Playa Romantica from Sept.25th to Oct. 9th and absolutely loved it, until the rain flooded the whole house. Oceano put us in another house until ours was cleaned up. It doesn't look like this picture any more, the water rushed thru and around and created some wash out crevices down to the beach. There needs to be some drainage work so the water will shed away from the house.The front porch drain was clogged also causing it to fill up and come in the front door. The home East of us also drains toward the house when it rains and when they wash their cars, or their maid throws the cleaning water off their driveway. We hope that this work is done so we can return. The house is so nice, it would be a shame to let this happen again. I'm afraid the new appliances will start to rust. Oceano was very courteous, but the cleaning crew left a lot of mud on the gravel parking area. They had to carve a spot on the frame to get the front door to open. There is a "ring" around the front of the house to show the water line. Please fix this drainage problem so this wonderful house can be rescued. We loved all the new tile, granite counter tops in kitchen and baths, and new shower doors, etc. New stainless steel appliances. The bamboo curtains got wet but didn't stain. Overall, we loved Playa Romantica, even though we got flooded out for awhile.

We LOVE this house! It is newly remodeled with a lovely kitchen and bathrooms! The layout is amazing for a small family or even 2 small families. This beach front house has been completely remodeled and is lovely and comfortable.
The property managers (Oceano) are very responsive. We had an issue with the air conditioning unit in the kitchen/living room. They sent workers right over to resolve the problem.
We have stayed in this house many times and always enjoy it.

Perfect location for two couples or small families to stay for a relaxing get away. At low tide there is a large sandy area which is also a great area for swimming during high tide. Kitchen and bathrooms were upgraded and very nice.

We have been to Las Conchas several times and love to have our own beach! This home was chosen because our 1 year old is mobile and we can't risk a fall off a balcony. The pictures need an update as the remodel is not on the current post for the property. So, it was much nicer than expected. We did not know what amenities to expect. Again, pleasantly surprised. The ad does not indicate Wi-Fi but it was available. I could have used a roll of paper towel and aluminum foil. A functional chef's knife was lacking. These are just minor details. It would have been nice to have some beach gear and a table for outdoor meals. We are accustomed to having beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards at our other preferred rental. It was so quiet and we didnt mind the foot traffic from vendors although they were more plentiful than we have ever experienced. The previous reviews had me fearful skeptical over a few things but this rental surpassed our expectations. We will return!

We always rent this beach house when vacationing in Las Conchas because of its location conveniently in front of the ocean so we can fish with our kayaks and paddle boards then when the waves are too crazy we'll ride waves with our boogie boards or fish off the surf using spinners around the reefs which caught us so much fish that we had to catch and release. Watching the dolphins play from the patio during the morning while drinking coffee is another big plus! La playa Romantica is our to go place and oceano-rentals make us feel welcome everytime...we love it!!!!

We liked it very much. The air conditioner in the kitchen did not blow cold air. The stove was either slow heating or not at all. 2 of the arcadia doors were hard to open or lock. Need TP holders in bathrooms. But it was a very nice place in great location. Enjoyed it. Will rent again

We enjoyed the home. Was nice having everything almost new. we had a few negatives and that was the window coverings in the bedrooms were not very private. You could see in very clearly from the outside and with people coming by the side to go to the beach was hard to dress in the room. Also all the dressers in both bedrooms the drawers are falling off. Could only use maybe 2 drawers. Other than that we enjoyed using the home.

We have stayed next to Playa Romantica several times in the past and when the opportunity came up to make a last minute trip they were open so we grabbed it. It is in a perfect location but had always been a little outdated. So we were SHOCKED to see the house completely remodeled! Beautiful! There wasn’t even a speck of anything in the cabinets, oven, fridge, etc. This made for an an exceptional stay!! Very impressed! Will definitely be back.

Great little 2 bedroom place with enough room for 2 families if needed. Right on the beach and newly renovated to include heating and cooling, granite, new appliances, and updated bathrooms. Easy to Get to and Oceano is easy to deal with. That being said check out Oceans website before booking thorough any other site and save a few bucks!

This house was everything my family and I could ask for. As soon as you walk through the front door you are taken away. From the updated kitchen and bathrooms to the amazing view, this house was exactly what we needed. There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans, linens, chairs for outside, and a broom (thought I'd add since other reviews didn't have one) The only thing that was tricky was the stove took forever to cook anything. I learned if cooking eggs cook less at a time and use small front burner otherwise takes 30 mins. We brought our own grill just based on other reviews but there was a square charcoal grill available. Even with the stove "issue" we will definitely stay here again. Was absolutely amazing.

We always enjoyed Playa Romantica even when it was getting a bit aged on the inside. Now it's been updated! The renovation looks nice, but was clearly very recent so there were some pains. There was no broom on the premises to sweep up sand and crumbs. The range is seriously underpowered. I don't know if they use 110V ranges in Mexico instead of 220V, but it took for-ev-er to heat up. We never did achieve 350F. The property doesn't have a BBQ anymore either. We didn't need it, but with the range issue it would be good to have one as an alternative. Sadly the spice cabinet, which was probably accrued over time by other renters, was tossed out during the renovation so BYO spices (and feel free to leave some behind for future renters ;) ). We still love Playa Romantica, and hope these things are fixed next time we come!

This is an older house right on the beach. The screen doors don't lock nor move easily. Towels are small the threadbare. Guests must bring everything from paper towels to condiments to good cookware.
However, the AC works great and the Wi-Fi is strong. We will return here.
